About The Flower Print Project

The Flower Print Project is an initiative to determine whether daisies have unique prints, similar to that of a fingerprint. The idea of fingerprinting is a trait inherently attributed to humans. This project asks the question: Do plants, in particular daisies, share this trait? Does the print on the individual flower petals make each flower unique?

Each petal print is carefully dipped in ink and lightly pressed on a canvas to visualize the intricacies of the petals. These canvases will then be arranged in a sequence that allows for the comparison of individual petals on a single daisy or multiple daisies. Over the next year, the project will compare and document the petals of 365 daisies.

This blog will be a record of the progress and findings throughout the project. I will also periodically post a few notable images of the artwork. However, to see the project in its entirety you will need to visit during a showing. Upcoming shows of the artwork will be announced on this blog, so please follow me for the latest news.
